Umm Naml is the pseudonym for a Nigerian author whose birth name is Medinat Ize Musa. Although resides in Kaduna with her family, she is originally from Kogi State, and speaks Ebira dialect fluently.
She is the founder of Umm Naml Reads (UNR), which publishes an online magazine quarterly and runs online courses on narrative writing for children and young adults.
Umm Naml holds online writing workshops and coaches writers on fiction work, articles writing, poetry and intelligible quotes.
In January 2019, Umm Naml launched her first sets of children books in paperbacks; a picture book for ages 5 – 7 and an early chapter book for ages 8 – 12.
As a lover of adult fiction, she currently publishes Islamic fiction on wattpad; books that speak of love, haya, marriage, spirituality, polygamy and matters arising in the society.
Umm Naml is a book lover – which is expected right? Yes, anything from reading to writing will make her love you forever, but her other hobbies include learning, teaching, researching, designing, hand craft and kitchen craft.
Her idea of a perfect day is an indoor setting with hot shawarma, iced Coca-Cola, a laptop with internet subscription, full power supply and a clingy son.
